Lecgacy of Care Health Clinic Volunteers are covered under the
requirements of s. 766.115, F.S.,
and the Chapter 641-2, F.A.C.,
regarding sovereign immunity protection afforded through the
Volunteer Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP).

The Legacy of Care Health Clinic provides free medical service and preventive education and health screening to the elderly and the uninsured adults.  It is a joint community outreach program of the Philippine Nurses Association of Northeast Florida, Inc. and the Philippine Medical Society of Florida, Inc.  The need of health care assistance for the uninsured was identified by the PNA Community Health Affairs Committee which then expanded and shared the vision of We Care Jacksonville,  The health care providers and licensed health professionals are afforded sovereign immunity (SI) protection  by the Florida Department of Health.  A VHCPP (Volunteer Health Care Provider Program) contract is drawn between individual providers and volunteers, and the Florida Department of Health.

MISSION
To provide free quality health care services and promote preventative health education to the elderly and working uninsured.

OBJECTIVES
1.Provide free healthcare services to the elderly and working uninsured.
2.Provide education to promote quality health and illness prevention to the elderly and working uninsured.
3.Coordinate participation of PNA and PMS members and other professional in providing quality health care to the needy.
4.Provide referrals for those with acute illnesses and special needs.
5.Provide medications, if available.

SERVICES
1.Diagnosis and management of common acute and chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases,
hyperlipidemia, asthma, urinary tract infection, upper respiratory infection, pneumonia, bronchitis, gastroesophageal reflux diseases, peptic ulcer diseases, diarrhea, incontinence, constipation, osteoporosis.
2.Health screening, education and counseling as needed.
3.Referrals to hospital, specialists, social workers, dietitians, and pharmacists
