Minutes of the meeting:

  1. 1.       Meeting was called to order at 6:10 PM by Julie Locquiao, the PNA president. She gave an update of the upcoming South Central Conference to be held at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront on May 15 thru 18, 2008.

  2. 2.       Treasurer Report from Pauline Rapadas. She has deposited $8,000.00 plus dollars for the event. This amount does not include all the checks that were submitted during the meeting.

  3. 3.       Grace Shugrue announced the names of nominated officers for the year 2008 – 2010 under the presidency of Romeo de Vera.

  4. 4.       Robert Aguila of Allstate Insurance Company presented valuable information about extra insurance benefits coverage for PNA member and families. He also sponsored the dinner for everyone present at the meeting.

  5. 5.       All committees gave an update of their respective assignment .The Social Committee will present a Folk Dance number during the “Filipiniana Night” on May 17th. Another group of members will present a musical number. Social Committee members will also take care of the decoration for the “Gala Night”. Other volunteers headed by Julie Locquiao will take care of the “Filipiniana Night” decoration.  Auxilliary members will assist  in providing  transportation of  PNAA  guest s and attendees arriving from Jax Airport. Julie Locquiao will provide arrival information , number of parties and contact person to Ed Callao and Ed Viray.

  6. 6.       Gemma Rio , chairperson of Education Committee  have all the education materials for the conference.    The committee   members are meeting separately to decide how to handle registration at the door. They are asking for volunteers who can help at the door.

  7. 7.       There will be a silent auction on both May 16 and 17 events. Donation of any kind are needed. The winners will be announced at the end of each day. The money raise will go to “The Christ to The King Health Clinic” for the purchase of needed supplies.

  8. 8.       Velia Callao will purchase gifts for the speakers/lecturers at the conference.

  9. 9.       The 29th PNAA Annual Convention will be held on July 16 to 20, 2008 at Radisson Resort Hotel, South Padre Island, Texas. PNANEF will be represented.  List of members attending will be posted.

  10. 10.   Next meeting will be posted by the President.

  11. 11.   Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
