July 28, 2007 – Quarterly General Membership Meeting

Venue: Baptist Downtown (1800 – 2100)

1. Reports from Different Committees

  1. Auxillary – Golf Tournament Fundraising scheduled for October 6, 2007. Proceeds intended for PNANEF as host for the South Central PNA of America convention (May, 2008).
  2. Membership Committee – Tess Jocson, new chair for this committee reported that there were 318 listed members since 2005. However, 153 did not renew their membership in 2005 and 2006.  As of July 28, we have a 251 members, 130 are updated. 121 due to have renewals, of which 13 just renewed today.  New incentives for PNANEF members are as follow:
    bulletFree membership for the past president
    bulletHalf price for retired nurses who want to become a member
    bulletRecruit five active members, get 1 year membership free
    bulletPay 2 years of membership fee and get a discount of $5.00
    bulletNursing clinical students who want to be a member, get free membership

The membership committee will notify members by mail or telephone (personal contact) 2 months prior to renewal date. Current fee is $30. From this fee, $20 is sent to the national headquarter PNAA, used for research and representation of Philippine nurses to other countries for educational and professional purposes.

  1. Nominating Committee – Candidates were introduced to the PNANEF

members. Members present had the opportunity to cast their votes, while those who are not present will have their ballots mailed. Candidates are as follow:

·        President-elect – Romy de Vera

·        Secretary – Rowena Baysa

·        Executive Board – Celes Matito and Lilibeth Cuevas

     D.  Quarterly Financial Report powerpoint presentation – highlighted income

            and expenses incurred with activities in the past quarter. Separation of

            accounting and activities by Legacy of Care Clinic, Inc. effective May 26,

            2007 announced.

 

2. Community Activities Planned – need volunteers

4. 3rd Anniversary of PNANEF: September 8, 2007 at Hyatt Regency Riverfront from 7 pm to Midnight. Donation $35, goal is at least 300 attendees. 1.5 CEUs will be offered as well. Pharmaceutical, advertisers and other sponsors encouraged to come.

 

5. An hour workshop on Clinical Decision Making presented by Lilibeth Cuevas. 1 hour CEU provided by PNANEF (FBN Provider #50-4688)
