 The PNANEF - 2004-2008 by Julie Locquiao

                                     Philippine Nurses Association of Northeast Florida, Inc was founded on May 23, 2004
A group of caring and concerned Filipino Physicians invited a handful of R.Ns from
different institutions of Jacksonville and Orange Park. These Doctors encouraged these nurses to form a Professional Nurses Organization representing hundreds of nurses from different counties of Jacksonville.
Twelve very committed nurses and willing to make a difference from different institutions came together and after several meetings decided to go for it. After completing the requirements  necessary to form an organization, the PNANEF were established.. More....

   My heart is full with so many successful regional conferences! As I have always said.. there are no comparison. Each one in each own right had their own "pakulo and lasa" Eight in all from September  2006 to May 2008! Baltimore, Md and Cherry Hill, NJ ( PNA, Md
 and PNA-DVI) Michigan and Greater Kansas City ( PNAM and PNA-GKC)
Oregon and San Francisco  (PNAOW and PNA-No CAl Atlanta and Jacksonville

     The success of the 8th SCR conference has been predicted…only thing it exceeded expectations. With all duty and anticipation, President Julie Locquiao of PNANEF (Northeast Florida) sent the invitations to all the 12 Presidents of the region - already with a sense of accomplishment - a yearlong of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Although busy promoting the vision, mission of PNA in their own region, the Presidents have now become pro – hide the invitation in a safe place but save the date so all can once again meet, be re-energized, be challenged, be inspired, be re-educated and bring home the bacon for the year.. and the cycle goes on with evident changes that go with the times.. only changes for the better… and once again it happened…

PNANEF came to truition after several years of wanting, talking and  planning by several different groups of nurses. Finally a harmonious blend of  nurses stood up and said, "yes we can do this".
       My Idol Mary Kay Ash once said, "  planning coupled with doing is the key to success". Serving as a president-elect for  two years gave me great chance to go through all the stages of how professional  association like this was formed. We have great blend of personalities who have worked their best to facilitate the growth of PNANEF. We performed not for us but for the association. More....>>

 
COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR

Blood pressure and blood sugar
screening followed by health teaching on diabetes and congestive failure were provided by the volunteers of the
 PNANEF members during one of their community
 health fair. They also presented the most recent
 evidence base knowledge and practice on stroke
 prevention and intervention.
